About the European Business Rules Conference

The European Business Rules Conference (EBRC) is a vendorindependent conference on business rules in Europe. The conference is targeted at business people, IT architects and developers and consultants from all over Europe. EBRC 2007 was held at the Radisson SAS Hotel in Düsseldorf, Germany, from June 18 – 20, 2007.

The aim was to promote the Business Rules Approach in Europe by presenting the state of the art in business rules application and use, by demonstrating the latest business rules technology, and by providing a forum for knowledge exchange.

The two-day main conference was preceded by a tutorial day (four half day- and two evening tutorials). The presentations of the main conference (June 19- 20) were organised in three parallel tracks.

About the Semantic Web Days @ EBRC

The Network of Excellence REWERSE organised the thematic part "Rules in the Semantic Web" within the track "State of Art". The four presentations were given by researchers and professionals with strong focus on Semantic Web technologies.

Go to the program

The Semantic Web Days (June 19 - 20) aimed at bringing together the business rules community as well as the Semantic Web community by demonstrating the interfaces and by showing how to lift Semantic Web from theory to a practical level.

A tutorial on Rule Modeling and Rule Interchange gave an introduction into the state-of-the-art of (platform-independent) rule modeling and rule interchange. Starting from the basics of rule languages and the Semantic Web, the tutorial discussed the various issues of rule interchange, and then presented the approaches of the Network of Excellence REWERSE and W3C Rule Interchange Format (RIF) working group to rule modeling and rule interchange.

A special Semantic Web exhibition area gave innovative companies and research institutes with focus on Semantic Web technologies the opportunity to present their latest results and/or most promising products/services.
